The Hats and Barrels pub and restaurant was opened in June 2023 in the middle of Solva at No 13 High Street.

It has large indoor space and a lovely beer garden next to the river. The former cafe has been beautifully refurbished and their attention to detail is exemplary.

The name, 'Hats and Barrels', goes back to the days when there were shipwrecks 17 miles off the Pembrokeshire coast on a nearby reef. On one occasion, in the 18th century, there was an attempted recovery and all the rescue teams could find was the 'hats' of the sailors and the cargo of 'barrels' of beer...hence the name 'Hats and Barrels'!
