The Shed, Porthgain
The Shed Bistro is located in the wonderful harbour of Porthgain, near the waters edge.
It's a relaxed and informal fish and chip bistro, which is renowned for serving their own caught or local fish.
The menu will vary from halibut to whole sea bass... and from beer battered cod and hake to breaded place.... all delicious.
We have never been disappointed and it's our 'go to' place to eat.
Porthgain itself has a long history as a prosperous industrial harbour dating back to the early 19th Century.
The harbour used to export slate from nearby quarries and latterly turned to brick making and crushed roadstone.
There are many large brick-made hoppers, which stored the stone before it was then loaded onto the boats.
In 1980 Porthgain was designated as a conservation area and the harbour is often used as a location for filming... altogether a perfect place to visit on holiday… being just 7 miles from our cottages in St Davids.
